Ghost Boat Theater launched our inaugural production in June 2026 with “One Thing After Another,” a fast-paced, farcical adaptation of Homer’s “The Odyssey.”
The play enjoyed a successful 4-show run at the Bruce Black Box Theater at Open Space for Arts & Community on Vashon Island. Written by Jennifer Dice and directed by Steven Sterne, “One Thing After Another” brought action, adventure, comedy and live old-time music to the classic epic. The show featured a 10-person ensemble cast of actors and musicians, with live music performed at every show by a band composed entirely of Greek deities.

The production marked the first show for the new theater. In his review for The Sound on Stage, Greg Heilman called the show “an impressive statement of purpose, one that suggests Vashon Island has gained a theatre company with a distinct personality and a bright future“.
